Overview<\/h1>\n\nPalladium Books was a dream client for me ever since one of my friends introduced me to their Role Playing Games at 13. I reveled in the worlds Palladium created and my imagination ran wild with characters and campaigns. Role playing games became a wonderful escape for me, yet at the same time, they channeled a lot of my passions into productive efforts. In 2010, I created a new website for them and very hesitantly contacted them to ask if they would be interested in upgrading to it from their very 1999-era website they had at the time. They ended up taking me up on the offer and a relationship formed that has lasted ever since.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Goals<\/h3>\n\n\n- Version 1: Update the company website to be responsive and modern, leverage a dark theme that leaned into the company’s game styles<\/li>\n
- Version 2: Be more interactive and shift to a brighter site for easier readability, highlight fan content and provide a more accessible experience<\/li>\n
- Version 3: (soon) Update the site and focus more on the store. Integrate the store into the website instead of using separate store software. Enable the purchase of both physical and digital products<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n<\/li>\n

In the first version of the Palladium Website, I did a lot of research of other gaming companies, their styles, and tried to find a unique look and feel that kept a similar theme to the dark feel they already had yet advanced the website design to better suit modern trends.<\/p>\n
In the years since, I’ve leveraged my industry knowledge and ever evolving toolsets to create more efficient (backend) and user focused (front end) websites for the company.<\/p>\n
Backend Development<\/h3>\n
In the latest version of the website, I’ve moved the company from Joomla to WordPress to take advantage of WooCommerce’s deep integration and ease of use as an ecommerce platform.<\/p>\n
We’ve also done some additional work to integrate a PDF stamping solution for the company’s digital products to reduce theft and file sharing.<\/p>\n
Frontend Development<\/h3>\n
The latest version of Palladium’s website doubles down on user engagement and highlighting the store, which, is really what most fans want – the newest books and latest news.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
